Tony Blair Institute for Global Change Appoints Daniah Orkoubi as General Manager for Saudi Arabia

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – In a significant move to bolster its efforts in the Middle East, the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change (TBI) has appointed Daniah Orkoubi as General Manager for Saudi Arabia and Senior Director in the MENA Advisory Team. This strategic appointment underscores TBI’s commitment to fostering economic and technological advancements in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

Mrs. Orkoubi, a distinguished economist with an impressive track record in public and private sectors, will spearhead TBI’s initiatives in Saudi Arabia. Her role will involve forging strategic partnerships, leading key projects, and driving the institute’s mission to support inclusive and sustainable development in the Kingdom. Additionally, as a Senior Director in the MENA Advisory Team, she will provide crucial insights and guidance on global economic and technological issues.

Prior to joining TBI, Mrs. Orkoubi served as the Deputy Minister for Technology Foresight and Digital Economy at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) in Saudi Arabia. She was instrumental in the establishment of the Technology Foresight Center (TFC) and played a key role in advancing the digital economy in the Kingdom. Her extensive career also includes serving as Chief Economist at MCIT and the Ministry of Economy and Planning, where she contributed significantly to national economic reports and strategic developments.

Mrs. Orkoubi’s experience is further highlighted by her tenure as an Economist in the strategy team at King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy, and at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), as Research Analyst in the MENA department and an Advisor to Executive Director where she was the first Saudi woman to join the technical team. Her educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in economics from King Abdulaziz University and a master’s degree in economics from the University of South Florida.
