Boeing announced today that Asaad AlJomoai has been appointed as the new president of Boeing Saudi Arabia. AlJomoai succeeds Ahmed Jazzar, who is retiring after a distinguished 48-year long career in the aerospace industry and having built Boeing Saudi Arabia into a leading regional presence in commercial and military aviation.
“Ahmed has been an integral part of Boeing’s success in Saudi Arabia,” said Dr. Brendan Nelson, president of Boeing Global. “He has been an outstanding leader, first establishing Boeing Saudi Arabia in 2005 and leadingsome of the most important sales agreements and initiatives for Boeing in the region. All of us at Boeing sincerely wish him and his family every happiness in his retirement.”
Jazzar announced his plan to retire after more than 18 years of service with Boeing and before that 30 years at Saudia Airlines. AlJomoai will take over leading Boeing’s operations in Saudi Arabia and continue to grow the company in support of the aerospace industry in the Kingdom.
“We are delighted to welcome Assad AlJomoai back to Boeing as the new president of Boeing Saudi Arabia,” saidNelson. “He has a wealth of experience and knowledge from his previous roles with Boeing and with leading Saudi government entities. Saudi Arabia continues to be an important market for Boeing and the Kingdom’s new strategic focus on aviation, logistics and tourism is creating many new opportunities for partnership in the region.”
Asaad most recently served both as a senior advisor to the Saudi Minister of Investment and as a board member of the Saudi Exports Development Authority. He has been involved in promoting foreign investment in the Kingdom, trade and leading a supply chain resilience initiative.
Previously Assad spent nine years at Boeing Saudi Arabia. He led International Strategic Partnerships focused on developing local defense business opportunities and, prior to that, was associate director for strategy and business development.
