The program was held in Paris, France and Brussels, Belgium, with the participation of 19 MCIT+ leaders, including members of the National Regulations Committee and telecommunications service providers’ officials. The 5-days program focused on regulating the digital economy and artificial intelligence, analyzing major influential trends, establishing regulatory frameworks for digital laws and policies, and learning about the regulatory bases in Saudi Arabia and the European Union. It also covered economic aspects of regulation, risks associated with AI, and examined various regulatory models from countries such as the USA and China.

The program examined best practices in AI supervision and the role of regulatory entities in governing emerging technologies. It also included practical workshops on AI regulation strategies in the Kingdom. Along with visits to specialized European Union institutions, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how to develop regulatory policies that support innovation while protecting society.

This DRA’s initiative aims to enhance national workforce efficiency and develop leaders’ capabilities in digital regulations, as well as achieving alignment and integration between regulators and global institutes through strategic partnerships to benefit from best practices and expertise, and elevating local entities’ services to new horizons.
